When Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson wrecked his SUV while reaching for pizza, he knew instantly the incident would be a running joke from which he would never escape.

Far from just accepting that reality, though, Burleson has embraced it. He makes jokes about it, laughs at jokes from others about it and even posted the accompanying photo Sunday after frozen pizza maker DiGiorno reached out to him a few weeks ago.

The letter from DiGiorno begins like this:

"Hello Nate,

We hope you are feeling better after your recent car accident and are on the road to recovery! DiGiorno Pizza understands the challenges that come with carryout and delivery so we're sending you a gift along with a year supply of DiGiorno pizza so you can skip carryout."

Burleson tweeted the photo along with a thankful message to the company.

Along with the Instagram photo was another entertaining hashtag -- #NoMoreLateNightPizzaRuns.
