3 In Custody After Standoff With Police In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) – An 11-month-old baby is safe and sound after a reverse drive-by shooting ends in an ambush. W-W-J’s Kathryn Larson reports.

Crime scene tape enclosed the area where a Detroit police tank was on site and a helicopter was circling above the yellow brick house on Waring Street near South Fort Street.

Commander Elvin Baron describes what it took to get baby and then the suspects out safely.

“Using the family members of one of the victims, his father actually drove up to the scene, provided a cell phone number and we were able to make contact with that individual, causing three suspects to exit the location,” said Cmdr. Baron.

The three suspects arrested include two men and a woman. The toddler is said to be back with his family.
