Man Stabbed, Tied Up During Home Invasion In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police say a man was stabbed multiple times before being bound with duct tape during an apparent home invasion on the city's west side.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning at the gated Infinity Park Apartments on Riverview Street near Telegraph Road and I-96.

Sgt. Michael Woody said the victim was laying in bed with a woman when he heard something from outside his bedroom. When the man went to investigate, he apparently noticed a hand coming through the door, trying to unhook the chain.

The man told police that two men then kicked in the door and entered his apartment. Woody said the suspects stabbed the victim multiple times and duct taped his hands and feet together before rifling through the apartment -- making off with money, personal items and keys to the victim's 2010 Mercury Milan.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in temporary-serious condition.

Woody said investigators are now looking for three suspects, as they believe the woman was also in on the crime.

The first suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion, about 20-years-old and 120 lbs. wearing all dark clothing.

The second suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion, 5'7" tall with a slim build, wearing a black hoodie, white jeans and black shoes.

The third suspect is described as a black female who goes by the name Jasmine, about 170 lbs. with short brown hair.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detroit police at 313-267-4600.
