One Car Winds Up Atop Another In Odd Accident

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - Royal Oak police say a bizarre accident landed one vehicle on top of another.

It happened Wednesday afternoon in the front yard of a home in the 4100 block of Coolidge near the Normandy intersection.

Police said a 57-year-old Royal Oak woman lost control of her car while turning and crashed into a parked car in front of a house  — causing her car to end up on top of the other. Both vehicles were badly damaged, as was the home's landscaping.

The woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said alcohol appears to be a factor in the accident as an investigation continues.
