Burned, Decapitated Body Found In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) Detroit police are investigating the discovery of a burned, decapitated body found inside a vacant school building on the city's west side.

The body was found about 2:30 a.m. Sunday afternoon in what used to be the Cody Ninth Grade Academy, along the Southfield Freeway service drive near Warren.

No word yet on the body's identity or how the person died.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner says they have had to call in a forensic anthropologist to help identify the remains. The medical examiner said the body is that of a man, but because it was burned beyond recognition, DNA will likely have to be used to identify the body.
