Teen With Plastic Gun Shot By Battle Creek Police
BATTLE CREEK (AP) - A 14-year-old boy was shot by Battle Creek police while holding a plastic gun.
Deputy Chief James Saylor says the boy was crouching outside a convenience store Saturday with what looked like a real handgun.
He says the boy's injuries aren't life-threatening.
The officer is a 21-year veteran who has been placed on leave.
State police are investigating.
