Family Of Murdered Man Makes Plea For Closure

DETROIT (WWJ) - The family of a 20-year-old man who was found murdered on Detroit's east side is hoping a reward will bring forward information about the killing.

Tyler "T.J." Taylor was found suffering from a gunshot wound around 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. Police found his body lying on the sidewalk in the 12000 block of Duchess, near Kelly Road and Morang Drive.

Taylor, who had just turned 20 the week before his death, was on his way to work when the incident took place. Police have released few circumstances surrounding Taylor's death and haven't yet identified any suspects.

Relatives say Taylor was preparing for his GED after attending Denby High School. In his personal time, Taylor often tended to his younger brother and his elderly grandmother, both of whom suffer health complications.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone who has information regarding the crime are urged to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Tips can also be provided online at www.1800speakup.org, or by texting "CSM" and your tip to CRIMES (274637).
