CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A pedestrian was hit and killed late Friday night in Clinton Township and the driver fled the scene.

A 20-year-old woman walking along northbound Gratiot south of Capital Drive was hit and killed, but the driver fled the area reports WWJ's Beth Fisher.

A vehicle going by saw the woman lying in the right lane and shoulder and turned their vehicle around to shield the woman, who has been identified as Bobbi Layne Roberts, of Clinton Township.

Police have no eyewitnesses and are asking anyone who may have seen anything around 11:25 Friday night to contact them.

They believe the vehicle involved has right front and headlamp damage.
