Pat Narduzzi Among Finalists For Broyles Award

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Florida State defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt and Duke offensive coordinator Kurt Roper are among the finalists for the Broyles Award, which honors the nation's top assistant college football coach.

Pruitt and Roper's teams will face each other Saturday in the ACC title game.

Also named as finalists Monday were Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, Baylor offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery and Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi.

Behind a powerful offense, Florida State became the nation's top-ranked team this week after Auburn knocked off Alabama, which was seeking its third consecutive title. The Seminoles this week will face No. 20 Duke, which compiled a 10-2 record.

A winner will be announced Dec. 10. The award is named for longtime Arkansas Coach Frank Broyles, who was known for developing assistant coaches.
