Man Arrested After Crashing Into Fire Hydrant, Admits To Inhaling 'Air Duster' Compressed Air

HARTLAND (WWJ) - A local man in trouble with with the law after police say he was driving under the influence of compressed air.

State police arrived on the scene of a single car accident to find a car had crashed into a fire hydrant in the Kroger parking lot on Highland Road in Hartland.

The 24-year-old driver told the troopers that he had passed out while inhaling "air duster" - canned compressed air used to clean out hard to reach spots. Inhaling the chemical and driving aren't a good mix.

Police found open alcohol containers in the vehicle - along with another 18 cans of air duster.

The driver is in the Livingston County jail pending arraignment.
