Lions Sign LB Stanford After Lewis Suspension
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions say they signed linebacker Julian Stanford to fill a spot left by the suspension of linebacker Travis Lewis for using of performance-enhancing drugs.
The Lions announced the signing after Lewis's punishment became public Tuesday.
Stanford was with the Jacksonville Jaguars last year and played college ball at Wagner.
Lewis was suspended for the final four games of the regular season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
