ANN ARBOR (WWJ) — Truven Health Analytics announced the release of an addition to its Payment Integrity Enterprise solution: Provider Surveillance Executive Dashboards.

The latest addition helps states and managed care organizations prioritize their provider credentialing workload by delivering public records information in an easy-to-consume format to root out healthcare fraud.

“Our expertise in this area of healthcare is critical to our customers’ success in meeting the new requirements for provider credentialing,” said Mike Boswood, Truven Health Analytics president and CEO. “Our ‘Big Data’ approach to this problem, reviewing and analyzing fast moving data from many sources, enables our state and managed care customers to identify providers with a very high probability of underperformance.”

The Truven Health Payment Integrity Enterprise solution helps health plans identify millions of dollars in healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse. The Provider Surveillance component automatically combs thousands of public records data sources, such as sanction lists, exclusion lists, Social Security Administration death records, and business owner lists, as well as criminal, bankruptcy, and tax lien information, to help risk-score and stratify providers.

“Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, States are required to do much more initial investigative and ongoing surveillance work, in the form of credentialing and screening, to prevent underperforming providers from entering the system,” according to Mark Gillespie, senior director, payment integrity solutions at Truven Health Analytics. “The dashboards provide valuable oversight reporting for managers to improve visibility on risk in their provider network and better manage their resources.”

The new dashboards are accessible on both desktop and iPad, to deliver insights and inspire collaboration.
