DETROIT (WWJ) – Even though the road work season is winding down as winter approaches, a few road closures remain this weekend for construction and holiday parades.
The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
M-97 (Groesbeck Highway):
In Macomb County, M-97 in both directions between Hayes and 14 Mile roads will have intermittent closures until 6 a.m. Sunday for reconstruction. Expect delays.
In Oakland County, I-75 Business Loop (Woodward Avenue Loop), both directions, between Perry Street and Cass Avenue will close Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a holiday parade.
M-59 (Huron Street):
In Oakland County, M-59 will close in both directions inside the Woodward Avenue Loop Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a holiday parade.
In Wayne County, Woodward will close between I-94 and Warren Avenue Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the annual Noel Night festivities.
M-150 (Rochester Road):
In Oakland County, Rochester Road will close in both directions between 2nd Street and Tienken Road Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. for a holiday parade.
M-24 (Lapeer Road):
In Oakland County, Lapeer Road will close between Mechanic Street and East Street Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for a holiday parade.
US-12 (Michigan Avenue):
In Wayne County, Michigan Avenue will close from Wayne Road to Newberry Street Friday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a holiday parade.
Road work starting the week of Dec. 9:
In Wayne County, I-275 northbound at Joy Road will have a single lane closure Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work.
In Wayne County, I-75, both directions, between Clark Street and Pennsylvania Road, will have moving lane closures Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for maintenance.
In Wayne County, I-75, both directions, between Mack Avenue and I-375, the right lane will close Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge work.
