DTM'S Bagels And Lox: Week 14 NFL

By Dan Leach/Follow Dan on Twitter @DTMLEACH

As the NFL season heats up so does the DTM Prediction machine, which will be here for you each and every week to help you win your pick-em-pool, embarrass your friends, and just become a more whole football fan and human being. I will take a look at five games each week with the best value and rate them on a sliding "Bagels and Lox" 1-10 scale. The fun continues and is getting serious as we hit the NFL homestretch......
KANSAS CITY AT WASHINGTON 1 PM EST TV CBS (CHIEFS -3)

The Chiefs have taken a step back over the past few weeks and need to reestablish themselves. The Skins are just Miley Cyrus bad and are nowhere close to having balance that K.C has. Look for the Chiefs to run wild with Charles, Smith to throw the ball all over the horrid Skins secondary, and for the Cheese Steak Maestro himself Andy Reid to get his boys back to their winning ways.

DETROIT AT PHILADELPHIA 1 PM EST TV FOX RADIO 97.1 THE TICKET (EAGLES -3)

It does not get much bigger for the Lions in a game that a win almost clinches the first division title since 1993. It is all about how the Lions play with success now as they showed they might not have been ready before Thanksgiving with the loss at home to Tampa Bay.

Now, with 10 days off and a team that is simply more talented than the Eagles, Matt Stafford and the Lions WRs are going to expose the bottom feeding eagles pass D. Look for Bell and Bush to have big days even with the possible late game snow. This is a chance for the Lions to truly stand up and show they are for real and they will not let this kind of chance go by the wayside this time.

INDIANAPOLIS AT CINCINNATI 1 PM  EST TV CBS (BENGALS -6.5)

Andrew Pot Luck Dinner and the Colts have been middling as of late, but still have a very good team that needs get some team behind them and can basically clinch the AFC South with a win. The Bengals come in on a two-game winning streak and are far away from their midseason doldrums, but still are not playing the kind of football that scares you. This game will be close throughout and I look for Luck to get back on track with a huge performance. Look for RB Donald Duck Brown and WR T.Y Hilton to have big games in the Queen City.

CAROLINA AT NEW ORLEANS 8:30 PM EST TV NBC (SAINTS -3)

This is going to be an all-out war on SNF, as both these teams have visions of winning the NFC South. After last week's Draconian (that's for you Eric Thomas) performance against the Seahawks, this game could not be any bigger for N.O. If they lose here, they could start to fade as fast as Dennis Rodman's diplomacy skills, as the Panthers would take control of the division.

The Saints offense is still one of the best in the NFL and they are much better at home in the dome than on the road. This is a statement game for the Panthers as well as they have won eight in a row. QB Cam Cam Newton is playing the best football of his career when it matters most.

This is going to be an all-out brawl and the Saints have just been too dominant at home not to go with them here. They are 14-0-1 ATS at home under Coach Payton and 16-4 ATS against a loss under Payton.
7.4 BAGELS AND LOX ON THE SAINTS -3
SEATTLE AT SAN FRANCISCO 4:25 PM EST TV FOX (NINERS -2.5)

It's amazing that the best and most balanced team in the NFL is a dog in any siltation, but the Niners have been playing great football as of late. Historically, they have dominated Seattle by the Bay. Off the emotional and dominating win over the Saints last Monday night, you could see how Seattle might have a little hangover going on the road, but this team is just too good right now to let that happen. They have won seven straight and as underdogs under coach Carroll are 15-3 ATS. The Niners will hang around most of the way, but it will be the Russellmania show late leading the Hawks to a huge win and bring the Hawks a step closer to home field throughout the NFC playoffs.

8 BAGELS AND LOX ON THE SEAHAWKS +2.5
DTM'S ODDS TIDBIT OF THE WEEK-Detroit Lions 14-1 to win NFC 25-1 to win Super Bowl- Lowest odds at this point of the season in Super Bowl era.
