Man In Critical Condition After Suspected Arson

DETROIT (WWJ) - A man who was pulled from a burning home on Detroit's east side is in critical conditions as investigators try to determine just how the fire started.

Officials say the fire broke out around 2 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 4000 block of Ashley, near Mack and Warren avenues.

While battling the blaze, firefighters pulled a man from the home and rushed him to the hospital. He was last reported in critical condition. A second victim was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A cause of the fire is under investigation, although officials tell WWJ Newsradio 950 they're leaning toward arson and are currently looking for a person of interest.

A second victim was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
