Delta Jet Slides Off Taxiway At Metro Airport

A trip to Atlanta for 183 people was delayed Monday morning when the Delta jet slide off a taxiway at Metro Airport.

Airport spokesman Brian Lassaline says the Boeing 767 was headed to a departure runway when it slide off the taxiway around 6:50 a.m.   There were no injuries.  Passengers were shuttled back to the terminal.  The plane had no damage.

The Delta Airlines website shows the plane was rescheduled to take off later Monday morning.

Lassaline says it appears to be an “isolated” incident.

Airport maintenance crews are treating runways and taxiways which had some ice on them.
