Parolee Reportedly Jumped From Corrections Van To Make Escape
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Police, State Police, and the State Department of Corrections continue to look for escaped parolee, Adrian Clay, a convicted carjacker.
Russ Marlan, with the Department of Corrections, says the 25-year-old escaped by jumping out of a van when he was being transported with other prisoners to do work at the nearby Detroit Detention Center on the city's east side.
"He is a parolee, but he is also a fleeing felon and so he should be considered dangerous and if anyone sees him or if anyone has information as to his whereabouts, they should call 9-1-1 or the Detroit Police Department or Michigan State Police," said Marlan.
Marlan says Clay may have escaped over family or domestic issues, but says he only had a couple more months before he would have been released.
Saturday, it was believed that Clay had escaped from the Ryan Road Correctional Facility when he escaped around 7:20 a.m.
Police Chief James Craig said Clay was working in a position of trust when he made a break for it.
