19-Year-Old Inkster Man Jailed In Double Shooting

INKSTER (WWJ) - A young metro Detroit man is behind bars, facing multiple charges, after an early morning shooting last week.

According to Michigan State Police, Inkster officers responded to the scene at around 2 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, on the 900 block of Sunningdale Street in Inkster, to find two people had been shot.

The victims, a 31-year-old Inkster man, was shot in the hand and leg and a 27-year-old Inkster woman was shot in the ankle.

The investigation was turned over to the State Police Second District Special Investigations Section, which determined the pair had been shot by the same person.

The lone suspect, 19-year-old Paul Anthony Williams of Inkster, was arrested and arraigned via video on Sunday on two charges of careless discharge causing injury, one charge of discharging a firearm in a building, and one charge of felony firearm.

Williams was ordered held on $50,000/10 percent bond and remained lodged in the Wayne County Jail Monday morning.

He'll be back before a judge on Wednesday, Jan. 8, in Inkster District Court.

The victims' names have not been released.
