Snowstorm Delays, Cancels Thousands Of Flights

ROMULUS, Mich. (WWJ) – There are thousands of flight delays and cancellations across the country because of the snow storm and the bitter cold that is settling in.

At Metro Airport, some people are sleeping in the terminal as a result of flight delays and cancellations. A person with Delta Airlines tells WWJ Newsradio 950 that 17 flights scheduled to take off this morning have been canceled. Another 41 Delta flights coming to Metro Airport have also been canceled.

Getting to the airport is also tricky. The ramps from I-94 to Merriman are slick.

If you’re traveling to Indianapolis and decide to drive, take note: a travel emergency there makes it illegal to drive except for emergencies or looking for shelter.
