Tigers Agree To Terms On A One-Year Contract With Jose Iglesias

DETROIT- The Detroit Tigers announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with shortstop Jose Iglesias.  

Iglesias batted .259 (35x135) with six doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI in 46 games with the Tigers after being acquired from the Red Sox on July 30.  He finished the season batting .303 (106x350) with 16 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 29 RBI in 109 games between the Red Sox and Tigers. 

Iglesias led the American League with 35 infield hits, while he was tied for second with 10 bunt hits. He finished the season ranked second among all American League rookies with 106 hits and 31 multi-hit games, while he was sixth with 39 runs scored. He finished second in voting conducted by the Baseball Writers' Association of America for the 2013 American League Rookie of the Year.
