Tips Sought After Crook Robs Same Gas Station 3 Times

SOUTH LYON (WWJ) - A gas station near South Lyon has been robbed at gunpoint for the third time in a month.

A gunman has robbed the Kensington Mobil Gas Station on Grand River again Sunday night and stole about $270.

The man was armed with a pellet gun, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Department. They said he robbed the gas station of about $600 in the first two robberies.

Authorities have been able to track the suspect toward a local mobile home park, but no arrests have been made.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-30s,  5 feet, 7 inches tall to 6 feet tall, around 200 pounds, with a medium build.  In once incident he was wearing a green jacket, gloves and had his face covered with a black bandanna.  In another he was wearing a black hooded jacket, black boots and camouflage bandana covering part of his face. In the third, he had on a black Carhartt hooded coat.

Sheriff's Detectives believe the robber may live in or near the Kensington Place Mobile Home Park. They are asking for the public's assistance in locating the suspect, whose image was captured on a security camera.
