New Arabic Document Analytics Software From Ann Arbor Firm

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) -- NovoDynamics Inc., a developer of pattern recognition and analytics software and services, announced the availability of version 4.1 of its NovoVerus optical character recognition software.

NovoVerus 4.1 includes added capabilities for enhanced performance on forms containing Arabic text. It is also designed to integrate seamlessly with IBM DataCap Taskmaster Capture 8.1, which includes libraries that link to NovoVerus in order to provide Arabic OCR with document capture.

Customers use NovoVerus to quickly and accurately convert millions of pages of Arabic text into searchable libraries and to support automated translation applications.

NovoDynamics is a portfolio company of In-Q-Tel, the venture capital unit of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. Founded in 2001, its products and services are used worldwide by business, government and academia.

"Already acclaimed for its unparalleled capabilities as the most powerful Middle Eastern language OCR available, with this new release, NovoVerus becomes yet more valuable to more users when integrated with document capture and document management solutions," said NovoDynamics president and CEO David Rock.

NovoDynamics says NovoVerus automatically cleans and converts even the most challenging documents -- including scanned or faxed images from damaged originals and degraded copies -- into digital text, ready for post-processing, analysis and translation.

Including support for mixed language documents, NovoVerus handles global languages including Arabic, Persian (Farsi, Dari), Pashto, Hebrew, Urdu, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, French and English.
