DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today recalled center Cory Emmerton from the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins. Emmerton is slated to be in the lineup tonight as the Red Wings take on the New York Rangers on the road tonight at 7:00 p.m. (FOX Sports Detroit/97.1 The Ticket).

Emmerton, 25, ranks third on the Griffins with 29 points (10-19-29) in 31 games. The St. Thomas, Ontario, native is currently riding a five-game point streak and has totaled 20 points (9-11-20) in his last 17 games overall. A sixth-year pro, Emmerton has also skated in nine games with the Red Wings this season, recording two assists and four penalty minutes. In 130 career NHL games with Detroit, he has 21 points (12-9-21) and 22 penalty minutes. He has also registered 140 points (44-96-140) and 78 penalty minutes in 248 career AHL games with Grand Rapids.
