Republicans Costing Taxpayers $7 Million A Day Say Senate Dems

LANSING (WWJ) - Michigan is losing seven million dollars a day, according to senate Democrats, the result of Republicans voting to delay the implementation of Medicaid expansion until mid-March.

Republican Senate Majority leader Randy Richardville doesn't agree.

"Instead of talking about the celebration of more people getting benefits, about reduced lines at emergency rooms  ... instead they're saying that we have to wait ten weeks for this program to hit and that that's the evil part of it," said Richardville.

"Really, what we have is a delay in those benefits being rewarded . You're gonna have to wait until March twelfth before you are eligible for actually getting that treatment in the payment of that. To say we're losing that money & turning people away is just plain and simply a lie and it's looking for a little bit of extra attention in an election year," he said.

Senate Democrats have set up a website, HERE , detailing the money being wasted by the delay.
