CASNOVIA TOWNSHIP (AP) - A sheriff says four people are dead following a crash on an icy roadway in western Michigan.

Muskegon County Sheriff Dean Roesler tells the Muskegon Chronicle and WZZM-TV that the four died in the crash that was reported shortly after 6 a.m. Friday in Muskegon County’s Casnovia Township. The roadway at the scene is closed as authorities investigate.

The sheriff says he’s gathering more details about the crash, which happened about 20 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.

The Associated Press left a message seeking information from the sheriff’s office.
