Pedestrian Hit, Killed While Walking In Livingston County
HOWELL (WWJ) - Authorities in Livingston County are is investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed early Saturday morning.
According to officials at the Livingston County Sheriff's Department, 28-year old Hugh Miller of Saline was walking along Burkhart Road, near Grand River, when the accident occurred.
Investigators say 27-year old Christopher Juarez of Howell was traveling southbound, in his 2003 Buick Rendezvous, when he struck Miller.
Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. Juarez wasn't hurt.
Burkhart Road was closed for longer than three hours while deputies investigated the accident.
Officials said speed and alcohol or drugs likely were not factors in the crash — but that's still under investigation. Toxicology reports will be available within six to eight weeks.
