The fifth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft will be spending his first offseason doing rehab. Lions defensive end Ziggy Ansah underwent shoulder surgery in early February, according to FoxSports.com. Ansah will have to rehab the shoulder, but he’s expected to be ready for the beginning for the 2014 season.
Ansah originally injured the shoulder in Week 14 against Philadelphia, but he fought through the pain and played in each of Detroit’s final three games of the season. The BYU-product led all rookies in 2013 with eight sacks, that number also led the Lions defense.
