Automation Alley Offers Code ReConnect IT Training Program

TROY (WWJ) -- Automation Alley this week announced the launch of Code ReConnect, a new training program designed to provide participants with the skills and credentials needed to land high-level IT jobs.

The first installment of the program, Code ReConnect .Net, will focus on computer programming and Web and app development. Training will take place at Oakland Community College's Auburn Hills campus from April 28 to June 6.

Participants will receive an industry-recognized certification (Microsoft Certified Professional) with 120 hours of classroom instruction and 64 hours of hands-on lab time. In addition, the program includes instructor-led exam preparation and employment preparation skills, such as resume writing and mock interview scenarios. Upon successful completion of certification, participants will have access to employment opportunities with local companies through Kelly Services, Inc.

To apply, interested individuals must attend the free Code ReConnect Information Session on March 19 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at Automation Alley headquarters in Troy.

"Southeast Michigan is one of the top tech hubs in the nation, but we are currently seeing a shortage of employees with the skills and knowledge needed to keep up with today's technological advancements," said Automation Alley director of talent development Alysia Green. "We chose .Net training as our first offering because local companies expressed a need for employees with those skills. We encourage interested individuals to come to our information session and learn how this program can help place you on a path to career success."

Candidates must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:
• Age 21+
• U.S. citizen and resident of Southeast Michigan
• Previous C#, VB.Net and development experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

Priority will be given to unemployed candidates and veterans. Students must test for certification the week of June 9, following the completion of classes. A $75 enrollment fee is required in advance of the first class, but will be refunded upon successful completion of the curriculum.

Automation Alley Headquarters is located at 2675 Bellingham in Troy. There is no cost to attend the Code ReConnect Information Session, but pre-registration is required. Registration closes March 17 at close of business. To register, visit automationalley.com.
