ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. (WWJ) – Westbound I-94 was closed near Port Huron for several hours Monday morning following a collision between a car and a semi.

The accident took place around 1:00 Monday morning in the westbound lanes of I-94 just past I-69. Authorities tell WWJ’s Ron Dewey this was a head-on crash involving a car and a semi.

As authorities conducted their investigation, both vehicles remained on the scene, along with emergency response vehicles and floodlights. While the investigation unfolded, traffic was being directed onto westbound I-69. Drivers were directed off at Wadhams Road, in order to reconnect with I-94. There was a considerable backup on Wadhams at the time.

Officials say there were injuries involved but, fortunately, no one was killed.
