Safety Track Names T-Mobile Wireless Carrier For In-Vehicle Cameras

BELLEVILLE (WWJ) -- Safety Track, a manufacturer of vehicle fleet management technology for 12 years, has named T-Mobile US as the wireless carrier for the company's new in-vehicle camera system in the United States.

Called UCIT and pronounced "you see it," the system has inside and outside 360-degree vehicle viewing capabilities, along with continuous live streaming video.

"The main reason we developed UCIT is to empower business owners to promote safe driving within their fleet," said Jeff Stoker, vice president of operations at Safety Track. "The best way to correct a problem is to see it as it is happening."

Safety Track has provided GPS-based fleet tracking for more than a decade. It introduced UCIT in November.

The camera not only can let a fleet owner know where his vehicles are with 30 second updates, but also let him physically see, in near real time, what the driver is doing, as well as a 360-degree view of what's happening around that vehicle. All reports and alerts can then be stored and collected for future reference, such as improving driver behavior or preventing lawsuits.
