Tragic End In Search For Missing Minor League Hockey Player

SAGINAW (WWJ/AP) – A tragic ending to the story about a missing minor league hockey player in Saginaw.

Police confirm the body found in a SUV in a Saginaw Township Wal-Mart parking lot is 20-year-old Terry Trafford, who has been with the Saginaw Spirit Ontario Hockey League team the past four seasons.

The Toronto native had been missing since March 3rd.

A state trooper patrolling the parking lot made the discovery.

Trafford went missing after being disciplined by the club for a violation of team rules, but the Spirit deny Trafford had been cut from the squad.

He texted his girlfriend last Sunday, saying his “life was over and that he didn’t want to do it anymore,” but a cause of death has not yet been made public.
