CBS DETROIT - Thanks to three straight wins followed by a loss that came only after overtime, the Detroit Red Wings have worked their way back into the playoff picture, sliding into the seventh wild card spot in the East with just 11 games remaining in the regular season.

24-year-old right wing Gustav Nyquist has been a huge factor in the team's resurgence. Over the last week, Nyquist led the NHL with six goals. His recent highlights include two goals against the Toronto Maple Leafs, an assist on Daniel Alfredsson's game-winning goal against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and a game-winning goal against the Minnesota Wild. Nyquist has recorded 40 points in 46 games this season, and his 18 goals in 23 games since Jan. 20 are the most in the league.

The NHL names three stars each week. Nyquist was named the first star, while New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist was named second star and Boston Bruins right wing Jarome Iginla was named third star.
