Think Spring! Milder Temperatures On The Way To Metro Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - There's still no heat wave in sight, but the weather will get milder as we head toward the weekend and into next week.

After a record-breaking winter, AccuWeather Meteorologist Dr. Joe Sobel say the weather is getting back to normal in metro Detroit.

Wednesday may, in fact, be the last day the temperatures doesn't at least reach 40 degrees until next fall.

"Fifty, by the way, is the long-term average high temperature this time of year, so although we will be milder, we're still only looking at getting back to near average," Sobel said.

"It could be a lot worse ... and I don't see any what we'd call snowstorms in our near future, so that's obviously a good thing."

Sobel said there's some drizzle or rain in the forecast for Thursday — but it is still cold enough in the morning for that to become freezing rain. Temperatures could near 50 degrees on Friday, before cooling down back in to the 40s over the weekend, with some rain or snow possible on Saturday.
