DETROIT (WWJ) – The clock is ticking for most people looking to register for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
With just three days to go until that March 31 deadline, the administration says its more than six million people have signed up for coverage.
You may have heard, people who haven’t signed up yet will get a little wiggle room beyond Monday’s deadline, as long as they as they at least get started by them.
Joan Budden with Priority Health says the extension can buy some time to get help if you need it.
“As long as you’ve started an application, even though you haven’t been able to make it all the way through the process, you can take longer,” Budden said. “There’s not an exact date given. We’re thinking it might be middle of April to finish that application and have it submitted and in effect for this year.”
If you still need help getting signed up, there are several enrollment events planned around metro Detroit right through Monday.
