Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's a sight that makes many drivers in Metro Detroit cringe: The dreaded orange construction barrel.

The following road work projects are scheduled for this weekend, according to MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-94:

In Wayne County, eastbound I-94 ramp to southbound Merriman Road will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for pavement repairs. Ramp traffic will be detoured to Middlebelt Road to Goddard Road back to Merriman.

I-275:

In Wayne County, northbound and southbound I-275 will have moving double-lane closures between I-96/M-14 and Will Carleton Road from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday for bridge inspections.

In Wayne County, northbound and southbound I-275 over M-14 will have a single lane closed from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, and again from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday for bridge inspections.

I-96:

In Detroit, eastbound I-96 will have a moving single-lane closure from Outer Drive to Wyoming Road from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday for bridge inspections.

M-1 (Woodward Avenue):

In Oakland County, northbound M-1 has a right-lane closure at Nine Mile Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily until Thursday, April 4, for ongoing utility work.

M-14:

In Wayne County, eastbound M-14 will have alternating double lane closures at Hines Drive starting at 7 p.m. Friday and ending by 5 a.m. Monday for pavement repairs.

In Wayne County, the westbound M-14 ramp to southbound I-275 will be closed from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday for pavement repairs. A detour will be posted.

M-39 (Southfield Freeway):

In Wayne County, northbound M-39 from Michigan Avenue to Plymouth Road, and southbound M-39 from 8 Mile Road to I-94, will have moving right-lane closures from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday for bridge inspections.

M-102 (Eight Mile Road):

In Detroit, eastbound M-102 will have a moving left-lane closure from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday for pavement work.

In Detroit, eastbound M-102 will have double right-lane closures from Livernois to Woodward avenues from 6 a.m. until 9 a.m. Saturday for pavement work.

Starting the week of Monday, March 31:

M-102 (Eight Mile Road):

In Detroit, the left lane of eastbound M-102 and the right lane of westbound M-102 will have moving work crews from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily from Southfield Freeway to I-94 starting Monday, March 31, and ending Saturday, April 5, for pavement work.
