By Christy Strawser, CBS Detroit

ANN ARBOR (CBS Detroit) According to a Michigan State sports fan, he was minding his own business on the University of Michigan's storied Diag square screaming "Go Green, Go White," when he was approached by two strangers.

One of them allegedly started punching him in the face.

The victim said it happened at 2 a.m. Sunday, and he visited a local hospital at 4:43 p.m. p.m., about 15 hours later, to report his injuries.

Police took his report, where he said one of the men punched him several times. He described the suspect to police as a white man, 18 years old, 6-feet-4 inches tall, 200 pounds, with a large and muscular build and wearing a plaid shirt.

Was alcohol involved in the altercation? "Likely," said Diane Brown, University of Michigan Police spokeswoman.

She added there are no suspects for the crime or witnesses, saying, "I don't know what the follow-up will be."

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the University of Michigan police at 734-763-1131.
