DETROIT (WWJ) – State police are investigating after a dead body is found on Belle Isle.
Sources told WWJ Newsradio 950’s Laura Bonnell that on Sunday, Michigan State Police found the man’s body in the Belle Isle Zoo.
There was no immediate word on how the man died, but police, in a statement, said it doesn’t appear foul play is a factor and it appears that the body was there for a “long period of time.”
The man was not immediately identified. He was fully clothed and he may have been homeless, according to sources.
An autopsy was scheduled for later Monday.
Police are hoping to have more answers once the autopsy is completed.
