With a season full of ups and downs, the Red Wings look to make everything better when the NHL playoffs start on Friday. The Red Wings will take on the Bruins in Boston.

With the season surrounded by hype and questions about whether or not they would make it to their 23rd straight playoff appearance, the Red Wings defeated the odds and extended the streak.

The Wings also took the nation’s attention as they hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs on New Year’s day to play in the Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium.

The Red Wings were riddled with injuries this season, most notably to Captain Henrik Zetterberg and Assistant Captain Pavel Datsyuk. Red Wings had several young players step up, particularly Gustav Nyquist stepped up as he scored 28 goals and added 20 assists.

The Red Wings put together a season to remember. Hopefully they will extend it in the playoffs. You can hear game one on 97.1 The Ticket at 7:10 pm.
