Line Forms Early For Tickets To Williams-Spielberg Appearance At DSO
DETROIT (WWJ) – The DSO meets C3PO. Tickets go on sale at 9a.m. Monday for the special Star Wars performance by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, featuring John Williams and Steven Spielberg.
WWJ’s Charlie Langton is at the Max M. Fisher Theater on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit where people are already waiting in line for tickets. He says there’s a force of about 20-30 people outside the DSO. That includes 16-year-old Molly Sanford from South Lyon and her mother, who were the first people to arrive.
Since Molly and her mother arrived at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, what’s Molly’s favorite song, Charlie wanted to know.
“The end credits,” Molly answered. “It’s to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.”
“He’s not gonna play that,” Charlie responded.
“No, probably not, but he’s probably going to play “Harry’s Wondrous World’ and that’s a good one.”
Charlie wanted to know if Steven Spielberg plays an instrument too.
“Uh, I don’t know,” Molly answered.
Whether Spielberg plays an instrument or not, both of them are going to be at the DSO on Saturday, June 14th. Tickets range from $50 to $250.
While people wait in line for tickets, storm troopers, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, and R2D2 from 501st Legion Great Lakes Garrison are scheduled to make appearances. May the force be with you!
