DETROIT (WWJ) – Would you like to be a superhero?

In conjunction with Super Hero Day there will be a Super Run through Midtown Detroit April 26th.

The 5k Run/Walk will include super heroes from all walks of life reports WWJ Newsradio 95O’s Marie Osborne.

Justin Draplin is the co-founder of the Super Run which takes place through the Wayne State Campus. The race is one of twenty-six which will be run in select cities around the country this year.

The superhero themed event is designed to benefit local charities:

“In Michigan we’ve partnered with Lutheran Social Services and their big thing they are raising funds and awareness for is foster parenting,” said Draplin.

He says the event is family friendly and registration includes a super hero cape.

Part of the proceeds with benefit the Heart-heros and Playworks.

You can find more information on registration [HERE].
