'Freckleface Strawberry' Set To Hit The Stage At Oakland University

ROCHESTER, Mich. (WWJ) - Looking for something fun to do with the kids? Oakland University may have just the thing.

On Friday, May 16 and Sunday, May 18, 2014, the university is presenting 'Freckleface Strawberry the Musical' inside of the Varner Recital Hall. The production is about, as you may have guessed already, Freckleface Strawberry!

"Freckleface Strawberry is just like every other girl — except she has freckles," according to a press release from Oakland University. "She thinks she will do anything to get rid of her freckles, but with the help of her loveable schoolmates, including an amazingly talented ballerina, a cute jock, a charming ditz, and a totally kooky teacher, Freckleface learns that everyone is different — and that's what makes everyone special! Freckleface and her friends learn to love the skin they're in."

The musical is based on the books written by actress Julianne Moore and illustrated by LeUyen Pham.

Tickets to Varner Recital Hall performance are $10 general admission, $6 for students and children. This event is suitable for all ages. Click here for ticket information.

'Freckleface Strawberry' is also available to tour to schools and community centers between May 14 and June 8, 2014. Email oaklandtour@gmail.com for information and tour pricing.
