DETROIT (WWJ) – “I’m still going to dunk,” he said. “I just won’t touch the rim.”

Was Lions receiver Calvin Johnson joking when he made that statement to the Detroit Free Press during the weekend?

All kidding aside, it begs the question what kind of control or discipline will the new Lions head coach Jim Caldwell wield?

The NFL banned dunking over the crossbar after New Orleans’ Jimmy Graham rocked the goalpost during a post touchdown celebration with a not so impressive slam dunk.

Offseason the NFL decided that anyone celebrating a touchdown with a dunk over the post will be slapped with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

What do you think? Will Johnson continue to slam dunk or does Caldwell put his stamp on discipline for the new Lions season?
