Meg Ryan To Narrate New 'HIMYM' Spin-off

(CBS San Francisco) - Just as Bob Saget narrated the hit CBS series “How I Met Your Mother,” actress Meg Ryan has been tapped to narrate the upcoming series spin-off “How I Met Your Dad” according to Entertainment Weekly.

Seems like a coincidence that Greta Gerwig, who will play the lead role on the show, is named “Sally” on the spin-off. Ryan played “Sally Albright” in the hugely successful 1989 comedy “When Harry Met Sally.” Ryan will narrate the show as the “Future Sally” to Gerwig’s character.

Gerwig’s “Sally” is a woman who’s not sure where her life is going after realizing that her husband of less than a year isn’t the right fit. Similar premise to the first series, we will follow Sally as she navigates life and dating, one day leading to the man of her dreams.

How I Met Your Mother” recently ended a long standing run on CBS. The show starred Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel and Josh Radnor.

This will be Meg Ryan’s first major television role in prime-time.
