Is A Fix In The Future For Oakland County Potholes?

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - A steady stream of cars clunk over the potholes that go all the way across southbound Greenfield Road from Nine Mile to Eight Mile Roads, along the Southfield-Oak Park border.

Dennis Kolar, the managing director of the Road Commission for Oakland County, says they know how bad it is; they've been in talks with the City of Southfield for a year planning what he calls "emergency reconstruction."

Despite that imminent-sounding description of the plan to fix the road, according to Kolar, it isn't going to happen for months.

The estimated $3.1 million project doesn't even go to bid until June, and by the time the bid is selected, it'll be another month before work even begins -- after the July 4th holiday.

Until then ... grab the wheel and hang on tight!
