Man Jumps To His Death Off Ambassador Bridge

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) – Detroit police say a Texas man jumped to his death off the Ambassador Bridge after being turned away by Canadian officials.

According to Officer Adam Madera, the 35-year-old man from Kingwood, Texas was headed back toward Detroit on Monday when he stopped his vehicle, got out and jumped off the American side of the span around 11:25 a.m.

Madera said the man landed on the ground, not the Detroit River.

The man’s name wasn’t immediately released. An investigation is ongoing.
