12-Year-Old Boy Seriously Hurt In Oakland County Jet Ski Crash

HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP (WWJ) – A 12-year old boy is hospitalized after a jet ski accident on Duck Lake in Oakland County.

Sheriff’s deputies say the boy was driving the wave-runner Sunday evening when he was hit by a second jet ski piloted by a 14-year-old.

The 12-year-old from Highland Township was transported by family members on a pontoon boat back to shore where fire officials administered first aid.

The boy was taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital for treatment of a head injury. He was listed in serious condition, Monday afternoon.

His name was not released.

Sheriff’s officials said no one else was hurt.

Witnesses told authorities that several “young kids”  on jet skis were “playing around spraying each other” when the accident occurred.
