Fire Rips Through Detroit House, Collapses It As Firefighters Battle Blaze
DETROIT (WWJ) Fire tore through an abandoned house on Detroit's east side early Monday, causing the structure to collapse.
WWJ's Ron Dewey was there, describing the scene like this: "What used to be a house is a pile of cinder block and rubble."
Detroit firefighters continue to douse the home throughout the morning, and McDougall, south of I-94 is closed.
Crews initially had some trouble with water pressure and that delayed firefighting efforts, Dewey said, but eventually the fire was brought under control
There's no word for the origin of the blaze, Dewey reported.
