Woman Found Stabbed To Death Near Detroit's Eastern Market

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) -  A woman was found fatally stabbed in a dilapidated building near Detroit's Eastern Market.

The situation unfolded around 2 a.m. Tuesday on Alfred Street near Orleans Street, just east of the main market area.

Detroit police said the woman had multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sources talking to WWJ Newsradio 950 said the victim was an older woman, but police haven't released any information about the victim.

Crime scene investigators were on the scene collecting evidence. An autopsy was planned by the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police were searching for a 52-year-old black male, according to reports, although his connection to the crime was not clear.
