Police Search For 'Middle Eastern Suspects' Posing As FBI Agents

WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) - Police are searching for three people who posed as armed FBI agents, apparently in an attempt to break into a home in a tony Oakland County suburb.

West Bloomfield police responded to a home in the 5000 block of West Bloomfield Lake Road, near Orchard Lake and Walnut Lake roads, around 7:45 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report about a suspicious person.

The homeowner told police that two men and a woman knocked on her door, identified themselves as FBI agents and demanded to come inside. The homeowner said all three suspects were armed with black handguns, and wearing all black clothing that had "FBI" written in blue lettering.

Feeling something about the situation wasn't quite right, the homeowner called 911 and told the suspects that police were on the way.  The trio then fled the area in a black Mercedes sedan with tinted windows.

All three suspects are described as being of Middle Eastern descent. The males both appear to be in their 30's, while the female is in her 20's.

"The victim in this incident took the correct course of action by not opening the door and by contacting the police at her first opportunity," police said in a statement. "Residents are encouraged to contact the police if they have any further information on this or any other related incident."

Anyone with information on the suspects is urged to contact police at 248-975-9200.
