Michigan State was scheduled to face Alabama in a home and home football series that was supposed to take place Sept. 3, 2016 in Alabama and Sept. 2, 2017 at Spartan Stadium.

The series was called off and former Spartan head coach and current Alabama coach Nick Saban was questioned why the series was canceled.

According to tweets from CBS Sports Jeremy Fowler, it seems that Saban just doesn’t want to play in East Lansing.

Would you be OK with the Spartans playing a neutral site game against Alabama? Michigan State does play a home and home with Oregon starting this season in Eugene Oregon on September 6, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. EST.
